5 Vineyards Near Saratoga You Should Visit (Even If You Don’t Drink Wine)

It’s no secret that Saratoga is surrounded by some of the most gorgeous scenery and outdoor escapes on the West Coast. It’s one of the major reasons why we love living here and serving patients here!
We are also surrounded by some amazing vineyards – and you don’t have to be a wine lover to appreciate them. Many are worthwhile trips whether or not you like a glass of red. Here are five of our favorites:

Savannah Chanelle Winery

Located at 23600 Big Basin Way, the Savannah Chanelle Winery offers pastoral views, picnic areas, and plenty of open space to spend a relaxing afternoon. You’ll enjoy the grass-covered park behind the winery overlooking the hills. And of course, there is wine.

Presented by helpful servers who will walk you through each style, your group will enjoy your stay here. Try the Chardonnay!

Cooper Garrod Vineyards

A short drive to 22645 Garrod Rd. will bring you to Cooper Garrod Vineyards, and on your visit you’ll enjoy a mix of history, the outdoors, horseback riding, and of course, local wines.

The winery is named after George E. Cooper, a world famous Hall of Fame test pilot who led a daring life. Some of the people serving you here are his direct relatives! You can also go horseback riding among the gorgeous hills and vineyards. It can make for a beautiful day out.

Big Basin Vineyards Tasting Room

If you prefer to stay in town rather than head to the hills, the Big Basin Vineyards Tasting Room at 14598 Big Basin Way is a great choice.

This pleasant tasting room is located in downtown Saratoga and features some terrific locally produced wines that have won widespread praise. There is sometimes live music, too, and the atmosphere is small and cozy. Try their tasting flight!

House Family Vineyards

The views here at 13336 Old Oak Way, home of House Family Vineyards, are lovely, but even more lovely is the warm, cozy atmosphere.

Nestled in the trees on a hilltop, you’ll have to walk a short ridge to get there, but when you do you will discover an open air tasting room that seems to invite you to sit down and relax on a beautiful day. And believe us, you’ll enjoy doing exactly that!

Mount Eden Vineyards

When you’re done going for a ride at Garrod Farms Riding Stables, drop in on the Mount Eden Vineyards at 22020 Mount Eden Rd for a taste of some wines that have been delighting locals for decades.

Their Pinot Noir is especially beloved. Maybe even nicer is the view of the orchards you’ll enjoy, though. Gorgeous stuff!
